50th Anniversary EPA Award Available Jan 1st – Dec 31st 2021 This award will recognize Scouts who research and learn about subjects related to human health and the environment. To achieve the 50th Anniversary EPA Award, Scouts must earn the Public Health merit badge and three additional merit badges from selected categories including merit badges related to Animal Study, badges related to Outdoor Activities, and badges related to Earth Sciences. The Scouts will also need to participate in an environmental or public health community related service project, totaling six hours of service, before they receive their award. This award will challenge Scouts to learn about, explore, and conserve the world around them while educating them on the impact the EPA has had since its inception in 1970. The 50th Anniversary EPA Award is available for Scouts to earn through the end of 2021. Once a Scout completes all the requirements, they can submit their completed form to the Kansas City Scout Shop where they will receive the commemorative patch.
